3D printing, robotics and programming

Hi @Jeroen Hartsuiker27ย

I see the problem is the examples are using different blocks for the OLED even do they look similar. Try to replicate the example, but using blocks that are in the toolbar of the Otto Ninja.

Make sure to have the latest Otto Blockly

I am trying to make my OLED display work on my OTTO Ninja (the one without the arms/head). FYI the LED display works fine. But I cannot get the OLED to work after swapping it in favour of the LED display. In OttoBlocky I simply pick Example > OLED display and try to upload the code to the right COM port. But after a while Otto Blockly displays this error message: Error: Command failed: arduino-cli.exe upload --port COM4 --fqbn esp8266:esp8266:nodemcuv2 sketch/sketch.ino Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\OttoBlockly\compilation\arduino\packages\esp8266\hardware\esp8266\2.7.4/tools/", line 65, in esptool.main(cmdline) File "C:/OttoBlockly/compilation/arduino/packages/esp8266/hardware/esp8266/2.7.4/tools/esptool\", line 2890, in main esp.connect(args.before) File "C:/OttoBlockly/compilation/arduino/packages/esp8266/hardware/esp8266/2.7.4/tools/esptool\", line 483, in connect raise FatalError('Failed to connect to %s: %s' % (self.CHIP_NAME, last_error)) esptool.FatalError: Failed to connect to ESP8266: Timed out waiting for packet header Error during Upload: uploading error: uploading error: exit status 1 What am I missing/what is not working here..?

Alright guys check this out! Making a super simple sound level display, made in Blockly ๐Ÿ˜‰ very few blocks. Is this what you were looking for Bill SCHONFELDER ? I am still playing with multiple type of sound sensors but you can expect something like this, please let me know, otherwise is as Piers Kennedy said, "not worth to ask too much to the poor nano". We could add a fast hartley transform library for a realistic analyzer but will be for one specific application. When you want to imitate the visual, it is all possible with blockly ๐Ÿ˜‰ ... (More)

Display Animations

This project aim is to collect possible animations we can use for Otto using OLED, LED matrix, LCD or other kinds of displays to make our robots more emotional.

For inspiration here is a really good one that uses an extra App that i would love to integrate somehow into Otto Blockly

I found this cool tool for creating OLED animations, basically you can just pick web icons8 that already have the frames and here you can convert them to code the sketch gets very heavy do but with ESP no problem!

Here is another good example of OLED... (More)

We are not the only one making Otto compartible with ESP and that is awesome!

I hunted the repo for you Nicolas

Piers Kennedy this Japanese seems also using Raspberry now

Bill SCHONFELDER i know you will like the use fo the color LCD ๐Ÿ˜€
